The CellMine team is thrilled to welcome two new members who are joining us to advance battery waste recycling. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Sanaa and Brent.

At the end of 2023, Sanaa and Brent joined Impact Solutions’ spin-out, CellMine, as Research Specialists. Sanaa recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry, where she synthesized, characterized, and scaled up a novel polymer-supported catalyst for wastewater treatment within the industry. After a brief postdoctoral fellowship studying catalysts for biodiesel production, Sanaa joined us to work on an exciting project to recycle lithium batteries with CellMine. Leveraging the academic knowledge gained, we are excited to have Sanaa on board to support our high-purity recycled lithium production process for battery manufacturing.

Brent joins us after nine years of study in Aberdeen, graduating with an MChem degree in chemistry followed by a Ph.D. focused on the design, synthesis, and analysis of solid-state oxide ion-conducting electrolytes. Brent is thrilled to continue his chemistry career in Scotland, working for CellMine on the ever-present issue of lithium-ion battery waste. He is excited to be involved in developing new recycling methodologies for end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and optimizing these processes for large-scale use.

As CellMine propels into a new generation of recycling, we’re excited about the developments and expansion planned for 2024.
